Reimagining Healthcare
Transforming Our System

Texas Health was formed in 1997 after three highly respected organizations – Harris Methodist Health System in Fort Worth, Presbyterian Healthcare Resources in Dallas and Arlington Memorial Hospital – combined to expand North Texas healthcare services. Since then, we have been evolving into a consumer-centric organization that provides health and well-being services at most life stages.

  • Unveiled Reliable Care Blueprinting™ and advanced high-reliability principles and tools across the system to promote clinical excellence, quality and patient safety.
  • Formed the Southwestern Health Resources clinically integrated network and Texas Health Aetna health plan to improve affordability and access to care.
  • Set Texas Health’s Vision of “partnering with you for a lifetime of health and well-being.”
  • Deployed CareConnect One, technology that integrates registration, clinical care, billing, medical records and self-service functions into one online platform.
  • Launched a new 10-year strategy that puts consumers at the center of all that we do.
  • Began building core consumer capabilities, including consumer research and analytics, to design data-driven and new, improved healthcare solutions.
  • Introduced to make it easier for consumers to research primary care doctors, schedule appointments and access health information online.
  • Launched Texas Health Community Impact to help reduce health disparities, address social determinants of health and improve North Texans’ health outcomes.
  • Began providing mobile urgent care services through DispatchHealth.
  • Awarded $5.2 million in Community Impact grants to address social determinants of health.
  • Offered Hospital2Home, a free service for Emergency Department patients that gives them immediate virtual access to a physician for post-discharge questions and follow-up.
  • Opened Texas Health Frisco, a joint-ventured hospital with UT Southwestern Medical Center.
  • Became one of the largest hubs for COVID-19 information, screening, treatment, assessment and vaccinations in North Texas.
  • Connected consumers to physicians and care teams virtually to safely maintain care delivery during the pandemic.
  • Addressed health disparities and provided food and critical relief to underserved communities.
  • Opened Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care™ clinics, Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, and expanded existing healthcare campuses to offer a seamless care experience closer to home.
  • Accelerated business innovations to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and mitigate risks.
  • Expanded our general surgery residency program to prepare the next generation of physicians.
